Secretary for majority to retire from Senate

Laura Dove, Secretary for the Majority, will retire from the Senate at the end of the month, according to Senate Bulk Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

In a statement, McConnell applauded Dove for her function in the Senate and stated she would be lost out on.

” Every Republican Senator has actually counted on Laura to listen to our goals and concerns and help translate them into action on the Senate floor,” McConnell mentioned.

Dove was elected Secretary for the Minority in 2013 and Secretary for the Bulk in2015 Among her responsibilities are handling the cloakroom, working out the floor covering schedule and providing assistance on parliamentary treatments to senators.

She at first came to the Senate as a page and worked as an assistant in the Senate Republican Cloakroom under Senate Republican Leader Bob Dole (R-Kansas). Dove’s father, Robert Dove, is a former Senate parliamentarian.

Assistant Republican Politician Political Leader Secretary Robert Duncan will alter Dove upon her departure.
