Senegal and Guinea qualified for the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations

Bafoussam-Cameroon: Senegal and Guinea qualified for the round of 16 of the African Nations Cup today, Tuesday, after the conclusion of the third round of Group B competitions. Senegal drew 0-0 with Malawi, while Guinea lost 1-2 against Zimbabwe. With these results, the Senegalese team was in leading Group B with five points, advancing to the round of 16, accompanied by the Guinean team, second with 4 points, with a difference in the head-to-head clashes against Malawi, who finished third, Zimbabwe finished in last fourth place with 3 points. Malawi can still advance to the round of 16 as one of the four best third-placed finishers at the end of the group stage. At the Koekong Stadium the Senegalese drew with Malawi, after not having taken advantage of all the easy chances they had in front of the brace. At the Ahmedou Ahidjo stadium, Zimbabwe defeated Guinea 2-1, with Zimbabwe team goals Knowledge Musuna and Kodakwash Mahashi in the 26th and 43rd minutes, while Naby Keita of Guinea scored in the 49th minute.
