Manchester United will face off against Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League, while Juventus will meet Sporting after the draw that took place in Nyon on Friday. United, who bested Real Betis in the round of 16, will be going back to Spain to take on Sevilla. The Andalusian club has not lost against United in their previous three ties, and most recently beat the English team in the semi-finals in 2020. Despite this, United Manager Eric Ten Hag wants to focus on local competitions and called the forthcoming game a “difficult confrontation.” Juventus has left the Champions League after finishing third in their group, and their hopes of finishing in the golden square of the Italian League has also been dimmed after receiving a 15-point penalty due to transfer violations. With their next rivals being Sporting, who managed to topple leaders Arsenal in penalties in the round of 16, Juventus must win the Europa League to ensure their participation in the Champions League next season. Feyenoord and Roma will meet in a rematch of last year’s European Conference League final, with Roma having won that game 1-0. Bayer Leverkusen, coached by Spain’s Xabi Alonso, will play against Belgian Saint-Gilloise, who ousted Union Berlin. The first leg matches will be held on April 13, and the second leg on April 20. The semi-finals will take place on May 11th and 18th.
