Sharon Osbourne 'slapped' Piers Morgan in clash before husband Ozzy urged her to apologise

Sharon Osbourne, 68, recently spoke out to defend Piers Morgan, 56, after he left his job on Good Morning Britain over backlash prompted by his comments about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, the former X Factor judge, who also quit her role on The Talk over the debate, has now revealed that their friendship has faced its fair share of troubles over the years.

Although the duo are good friends and get along well, Sharon admitted they have clashed in the past, with one of their arguments turning physical.

“We argue like hell; we had a punch-up once,” the star recalled.

Sharon then divulged that she once slapped Piers across the face at a Chinese restaurant.

Sharon’s husband Ozzy Osbourne, 72, didn’t condone her behaviour, and quickly forced her to apologise to the journalist.

Sharon explained: “I slapped him in Mr Chow’s [a Chinese restaurant in London’s Knightsbridge].

“Then I go home and Ozzy, goes, ‘Call him and apologise. Do it right now.’

“That was years ago. He’ll be huffy with me for a day and then he talks to me.

“We don’t agree about lots of things,” Sharon told the Daily Mail’s You Magazine in a new interview.

It comes after Sharon walked away from her role on US show The Talk after supporting Piers’ right to have an opinion and his freedom of speech after he accused Meghan of lying during her Oprah Winfrey interview.

Sharon clashed with former co-star Sheryl Underwood on-air, whose views did not align with Piers’ over Meghan, 39, and husband Prince Harry, 36.

Piers sparked a record number of Ofcom complaints from GMB viewers after he criticised the Duchess’ claims that she suffered with her mental health and faced racist comments during her time within the walls of the Palace.

During an episode that aired on March 10, Sheryl asked Sharon: “What would you say to people who may feel that, while you’re standing by your friend, it appears that you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist, even if you don’t agree?”

Former X Factor judge Sharon replied: “I feel even like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist so that makes me a racist.”

Speaking of the now-infamous interview with Oprah, Sharon told the publication: “This all started with two spoiled young people wanting to be victims, wanting to get publicity for what they’re doing in their life.

“‘What are you victims of? You wanted your freedom. You’ve got it. Now, what is the matter? What are you complaining about? We’ve all got problems in our family. There’s always one a**hole,” she said of the Sussexes.

After spotting that Sharon had spoken out on the incident that saw her leave her job for the first time, it didn’t take long for Piers to have his say on social media.
