Take a handkerchief. A year ago, Shaquille and Shaunie O’Neal went through the worst day of their lives watching their son, Shareef, undergo open heart surgery at the age of 20.
The family took advantage of social media to share very personal photos as well as emotional messages that made fans cry.
Basketball star Wives wrote: “A year ago today, as a mother, I had to rely on God and trust Him like never before. This process taught me so much and made me realize how precious life is. I was in a place where I cried all the time, but I still had to be strong for my children. @shareefoneal your faith even if you were afraid comforted me. A year later, your loving heart still loves unconditionally and works better than ever before. Thank you all for your prayers and support over the past year! # 1yearopenheartsurgeryanniversary #ShareefOneal #AMothersLove Support @american_heart #godisgoodtous. “
On a lighter note, Shareef recently shocked everyone – including his mother – by revealing a brand new tattoo he made of his mother’s face, right on his arm.
While some answers were divided and some of his fans were not sure they appreciated the gesture, the person who matters most in this situation seems to be entirely satisfied with this decision.
Shaunie recently shared photos of her son’s new addition to her body, and she seems overjoyed at the move, even if some critics find it too large.
Shaunie took advantage of social media to exclaim how happy the gesture was, and she wanted to say that she really appreciated what her son was doing for her.
And although some initially claimed it was a cheesy decision, it doesn’t seem to be a sentiment shared by Shaunie herself at all.
If anything, she is quite impressed with the way her son acted, from what fans can say. It is not the first time that observers have seen exciting exchanges between these two, and fans are delighted after his fear of health.
This is undoubtedly great because Shaunie and her son are receiving a lot of love from many sides at the moment, and it is good to see that they know how to make the most of it.
