Shopify suspends guidance, shows it prohibited thousands of users for COVID-19 profiteering

Shopify specified it is seeing merchants utilize considerable discount rates, and the business was required to suspend thousands of accounts for making inaccurate claims or otherwise profiteering by offering hand sanitizer or face masks.

” Shopify is examining the information across its platform for insights into how COVID-19 is impacting merchants’ operations in order to offer the most reliable support, as well as to inform our own preparation and decision-making during this duration,” the business specified.

Shopify exposed it will be making US$200 million in loans easily offered to merchants through the business’s Shopify Capital program, and on Monday the business expanded that program to the UK.
