Shyft Group Boosts Production at Blue Arc Electric Van Facility

Shyft Group, a Michigan-based company, is investing $16 million in an expansion of its production facilities near Lansing, the state capitol. This expansion will enable the production of 3,000 Blue Arc electric delivery vehicles per year and the company has already received orders for 2,000 of these vehicles. Production is expected to start this summer and the project will create additional technical, engineering and manufacturing job opportunities. Shyft Group, formerly known as Spartan Motors, has facilities in ten states and Mexico and reported sales of $992 million in 2021. The company employs 3,800 people, including contractors. The Charlotte, Michigan facility is one of Shyft Group’s largest and produces walk-in delivery vans, motor home chassis and work truck chassis.
