The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) said the Palestinian leadership had decided to consider that security coordination with the Israeli occupation government “no longer exists at the moment”.

This was stated in a statement released during an emergency meeting held by the Palestinian leadership, led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli military operation in Jenin, defined by the statement as a “massacre”, during which the Israeli occupation the armed forces killed 9 Palestinians and wounded dozens.

And the Palestinian leadership has decided, according to the statement read by the official spokesman of the presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, during a press conference held Thursday evening on Palestine TV, “to go immediately to the UN Security Council to implement the international protection resolution for the Palestinian people under Chapter VII and to stop the unilateral measures”.

Abu Rudeineh added that the leadership “has decided to urgently appeal to the International Criminal Court, to add to the previously submitted dossiers the file of the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, and to immediately request the initiation of the process in ongoing international commission of inquiry at the Human Rights Council, to investigate and report its findings in the responsibility of the occupation for this massacre rests with the International Criminal Court and the Security Council.”

The Palestinian leadership has also decided to continue joining the rest of the United Nations and international organizations, and to move at the Arab, Islamic and international levels to support the Palestinian position.

Abu Rudeineh said in the statement, “The president calls on all Palestinian forces to an emergency meeting, to agree on a comprehensive national vision and join ranks to confront and deal with Israeli aggression.”

In an urgent diplomatic move, the State of Palestine’s observer mission to the United Nations and the rest of the international organizations in Geneva and in Switzerland has sent urgent messages about the Israeli attack in West Bank to the Swiss Foreign Minister, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, President of the International Red Cross, and Secretary General of the International Parliamentary Union, Director General of the World Health Organization, Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 and holders of special mandates, and States parties to the Geneva Conventions.
