Rumor says that Sofia Vergara could join the panel of judges on America’s Got Talent after the controversial dismissal of Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough! Reportedly, the actress met with NBC executives and during their discussions, which lasted about two hours, she managed to impress them!
It seems that the talent show does not waste time when it comes to replacing the two former judges.
TMZ was the first to report that Vergara had a meeting with the show’s managers yesterday, December 18.
Sources told the media that even though she was 20 minutes late, Sofia still managed to impress everyone, including NBC Entertainment president Paul Telegdy.
But they also mentioned that, although she thought about AGT first, she was not there to exclusively discuss participation in this particular show.
Apparently, they talked about a variety of different opportunities, including a Spanish project, since NBC also owns Telemundo.
Another insider noted that the network thinks she is a very versatile artist and that she would like to work with her after completing Modern Family.
Meanwhile, Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough were AGT judges for only one season, and after their layoffs, Gabrielle revealed that there was a toxic culture on the set that included overt racism and sexism.
Apparently, she has received criticism on several occasions about her hairstyles, being told that they were “too dark”.
NBC and Fremantle denied there has ever been such a racist and sexist situation behind the cameras, but Gabrielle revealed earlier this month that she had had a discussion with the production about the possibility of bringing real positive changes on the set.
“We had a 5 hour long meeting, and what I thought was productive yesterday. I was able to express my unfiltered truth again. I led with transparency and my desire and hope for real change, ”she tweeted.
