Sonic Heroes Remake in Development for Switch Successor in 2025: Report
A new report suggests that a remake of the 2003 platformer Sonic Heroes is currently in development for Nintendo’s upcoming console, succeeding the Switch. According to Universo Nintendo, Sega is working on this remake and might be utilizing Unreal Engine 5 for the project.
Additionally, a Sega insider known as Midori (@MbKKssTBhz5) has supported these claims, adding credibility to the news. If everything goes as planned, the Sonic Heroes remake is expected to be released in 2025 exclusively for Nintendo’s next gaming system.
Originally released on GameCube, PS2, Xbox, and PC back in 2003, Sonic Heroes introduced a unique gameplay mechanic where players control a team of three characters. These teams include Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Rose, and Team Chaotix, each with their distinct abilities in speed, flight, and power.
Players must strategically switch between team members to overcome various obstacles in the game’s stages. Additionally, each team possesses a special Team Blast move that unleashes a powerful attack against nearby enemies.
While Sonic Heroes received mixed reviews upon its initial release, it has since gained a dedicated fan base. Surprisingly, the game has never received a remaster or remake in the 21 years since its debut, making this upcoming remake an exciting development for fans of the franchise.
