South Korea is developing new naval destroyers for its army

Naval News announced that South Korea is producing new military destroyers for its fleet.

“Hyundai Heavy Industries is working on the master design of a modified KDDX-class military destroyer, the design is expected to be completed next year, and in 2024 the company should sign contracts with the South Korean Navy to begin production of the ship. ,” the website said in a statement.

The website states that “the new ship will be different from the KDDX ships in terms of design and will introduce significant changes from the warships currently in South Korea.”

The new ship should have a displacement of 65,000 tons, armed with 127-mm guns, 16 guided missiles for combating ground targets and 64 guided missiles for combating air and surface targets.

The ship will also be equipped with advanced combat control systems and an integrated mast equipped with state-of-the-art radars developed by Hanwha Systems.
