South Korea launched its first ever space rocket on Tuesday in home, according to television footage, in Seoul’s second attempt in this field, after the first failed attempt last October.
The “Korean Satellite Launching Missile 2”, with its 200-tonne liquid fuel engines, informally called “Nuri”, took off from the Goheung site at 16:00 (0700 GMT).
“It looks like things are going according to plan,” he said, commenting on the launch.
