Southern Coast of Peru is struck by an Earthquake of Magnitude 5.3

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit the southern coast of Peru today. The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center specified that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers below the earth’s surface, at the confluence of latitude 16.28 degrees south and longitude 73.62 degrees west.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or material losses.
