Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series and the director of the game’s original release in 1997, stated that Rebirth would be “released the next winter,” which meant sometime in late 2023 or early 2024.

In a statement released on Friday, he provided an update and stated that “Development is Progressing Smoothly and According to Plan.” We are hard at work determining when exactly the game will be made available for purchase at this time.

During the announcement of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Kitase stated that the game’s production was “proceeding at an astonishingly fast pace for such a large-scale HD title.”

He went on to say that “making the middle part of a trilogy has its challenges” but that plenty of outstanding second volumes in the world of film are marked by astonishing tale twists and deeper studies of their characters. The fans often decide that the second installment is their favorite of the series.

Tetsuya Nomura, the director of creative development, stated that the sequel was being developed so that players could enjoy it regardless of whether or not they were familiar with the first game.

According to what he had said, “New players might even enjoy starting their Final Fantasy VII journey with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.” “In this game, Cloud and his friends set out on a new adventure, and I believe that the events that take place after they leave Midgar will provide players with a novel and exciting experience.”

In contrast to its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which made its debut on Sony’s previous-generation device PS4 in 2020 before moving on to PS5 and PC the following year, Rebirth will not be made accessible for PS4.

On June 22, Final Fantasy 16, the next mainstream installment in the series, will be available on PS5.
