Star Wars Battlefront 2 adds BB-8 as a playable character
Everybody’s favorite globular droid, BB-8, comes to Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a playable hero. The Resistance droid reintroduced Star Wars four years ago: The Force Awakens will join the Heroes cast in Battlefront 2 in January, as developer DICE announced today.
The first order also gets its own BB unit. This not-so-good droid golbet BB-9E, the dark astromech unit our supporters have whistled in The Last Jedi, will play a supporting role in the First Order.
The current hero and villain cast of Star Wars Battlefront 2 includes original trilogy characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Han Solo and Emperor Palpatine, as well as follow-up characters Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren. It’s not known exactly how round some Astromech guys will be with this lot, but BB-8 has provided a whole Canto Bight security team with a few coins and has piloted an AT-ST in The Last Jedi ,
More content for the Star Wars trilogy will follow, some of which are planned with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A new, unnamed jungle planet from Episode IX will appear in Battlefront 2 in December, as will new units: the Sith Soldier and Jet Soldier for the First Order, and the Sagittarius and the Spy for Resistance. The new Resistance units are two new alien species from The Rise of Skywalker. Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren also get new skins inspired by their performances in the new Star Wars movie.
