Starfield: A Potential Game of the Year Contender with Unanswered Questions

Starfield, a potential contender for Game of the Year

Starfield isn’t just Bethesda Games Studio’s newest game. It’s their first original license created by Bethesda in 25 years, and it is an oh so important cartridge for Xbox. We are promised a vast galaxy to explore, with 1000 planets of which 10% host life, various factions, the biggest cities ever created in a game, spaceship customization, a rich main quest, and building bases.

The big gameplay presentation last June greatly increased the excitement, but doubts and questions will remain until the moment where one can get their hands on it. And questions, fans have a lot. They range from the main story to the harvesting of resources, passing by the level of completion, the lifespan or the options personalization, and they are, for the most part, legitimate. We saw a lot during the 45 minutes of the Starfield Direct, but one feels like he’s only scratched the surface of a gigantic game.

Too many unanswered questions… A developer explains the situation

Unfortunately, the developers are a bit fed up with on ask them questions which they cannot answer. The latter are in fact not authorized to answer it, and this grand number of questions pushed Emil Pagliarulo, director of design speaking out on Twitter.

A Reddit user picked up Emil Pagliarulo’s thread, adding that he thought it was a very good answer despite a probable “avalanche of hateful commentary”. As PC Gamer states, Titan7771 does here echo of the many hateful messages written against the designer about 6 years ago on Reddit within the Fallout stream.

In particular, we could read calls for the dismissal of Emil Pagliarulo, considered responsible for the elements that were not appreciated in Skyrim and Fallout 4. The hatchet now seems buried, and on hopes she stays that way, regardless of Stafield’s reception next September.
