Sudan Police: Today’s demonstrations have been peaceful, but have deviated from their course

Sudanese police confirmed that Saturday’s demonstrations were of a peaceful nature, but they quickly deviated from their course.

In a statement broadcast on state television, police announced that 39 security personnel were seriously injured.

Demonstrations rejecting Al-Burhan’s decisions

The Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath correspondent had previously indicated that the protests had been limited to certain areas of the capital, after the military had closed most of the bridges leading to Khartoum, leaving only 3 closed (7 out of 10 ).

He also added that security forces have closed main roads, including the road leading to the army headquarters and the presidential palace. He pointed out that other demonstrations also took place at the same time in areas outside the capital, as well as demonstrations in foreign countries.

“Millions of anger”

Interestingly, these demonstrations came after the coordination of “resistance committees in Khartoum” called demonstrations under the name of “millions of anger” to bring down the military council, after Al-Burhan announced the formation of a new Sovereign Council.
