Sudan . the inflation rate exceeds 359% at one level record

The Sudanese Statistical Authority said today, Sunday, that the inflation rate reached 359.09% in 2021, up from 163.26% in 2020.

The agency added in a statement that inflation slowed to 318.21% yoy in December, up from 339.58% the previous month.

Core inflation, which excludes highly volatile items such as food, rose to 443.48% in December from 428.34% in November.

The Central Bureau of Statistics in Sudan had announced in previously that the country’s inflation rate had dropped to 351% in October 2021 from 366% in September.

Gasoline prices last November 18 in Sudan rose by 42 Sudanese pounds to 362 pounds per liter, while diesel prices also increased by the same 42 pounds, reaching 347 pounds.
