Sudan: we have seized weapons and explosives from Libya

Today, Saturday, Sudan announced the seizure of a shipment of weapons and explosives from Libya by arms traffickers.

Rapid Support Forces said in a statement that they managed to seize a shipment of weapons, ammunition and explosives from Libya and arrested four people from arms trafficking gangs, including foreigners.

Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ahmed Mahmoud Awajeh, commander of the Sherlit border military base, said, according to the official news agency, that the security forces intervened as soon as information on the activity of free gangs in thearea of Saif al-Barli on the border triangle, and swift support patrols have raided the area.

The patrols clashed with the gangs three kilometers from the area, and chased them up to arrest 4 arms traffickers, 2 of them nationals, who were handed over after interrogation to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.

Interestingly, Rapid Support Forces are deployed on the border strip between Sudan, Egypt and Libya.

He has repeatedly arrested gunmen in areas of the Darfur region, in the west of the country, adjacent to the northernmost point of the Libyan border.
