Medium and long range artillery shells

Agency/Al-Hadath correspondent reported on Monday that the army fired medium- and long-range artillery shells this morning, in different areas of the capital.

He confirmed that the military reconnaissance aircraft continued its sorties over Khartoum.

This came after Khartoum International Airport announced, in a statement issued last Sunday, that the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority had decided to extend the airspace closure to all air traffic until August 15th.

The decision ruled out humanitarian aid and evacuation flights after obtaining a permit from the relevant authorities, according to Reuters.

3 thousand people killed

Interestingly, Sudan slipped into the abyss of fighting between the army and rapid support forces on April 15, and the two sides reached several ceasefire agreements brokered by Saudi Arabia and the United States.

However, the negotiations that took place in Jeddah were suspended last month after the two sides in conflict accused each other of violating the truce.

The conflict has so far killed at least 3,000 people and displaced more than 3 million.
