The 66th National Film Award ceremony is currently taking place in New Delhi. While Uri: The Surgical Strike and Andhadhun won big, Badhaai Ho, with Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri among others, was not far behind. Surekha Sikri, who played the grandmother in the film, won the national award for best supporting actor.
We are all aware that Badhaai Ho has been praised at every awards ceremony during the year. Surekha Sikri impressed the audience with her incredible performance in the film. As she came in a wheelchair to accept the award, she was greeted amid noisy cheers and appreciation. The actress won the award amid a standing ovation and audience applause.
Directed by Amit Sharma, Badhaai ho had crossed Rs 200 crore at the box office worldwide. The film also won the national award for best popular film providing healthy entertainment.
