Syria war: Air strikes kill 18 in Idlib city regardless of truce

Idlib is the capital of the north-west province of the same name and is the last fortress of rebel groups.

Neither the Syrian government nor its Russian allies have so far commented on the latest air strikes.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated bombardments had struck the busy al-Hal market and the industrial zone in Idlib city on Wednesday.

Pro-opposition Step News Company said other locations in Idlib province were also targeted.

Syria’s government has stated it is identified to regain Idlib province, where the greatest armed faction is a jihadist group that used to be connected to al-Qaeda.
