Taliban appoint 44 members key local government roll

the Taliban on Sunday appointed 44 members key local leadership roles, including provincial governors and police chiefs, in strengthening the new regime against security threats and economic problems.

The appointments mark the first large scale round of leadership selections de group has made since it formed a cabinet in according to September Reuters.

The former head of Kabul’s military corps, Mawlawi Hamdullah Mukhlis, was killed last week in An attack on the biggest military Hopital in Afghanistan, Reuters reported. Which attackincluding gunfire and two major explosions, left at least 25 people dead and more than 50 others were injured.

The country has also seen an increase in suicide bombings from the Islamic State of Khorasan (ISIS-K), a group that works in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan’s economy also has been in crisis since the Taliban took over the country in August. Last week, the Taliban banned the use of Foreign currency in Afghanistan.

“The economic situation and national interests in the country requires that all Afghans use Afghan currency in their every trade’ said the Taliban’ of the decision.

Before the ban, areas along the border were traded in the currencies of neighboring countries like Pakistan, while US dollars also widely used in Afghan markets.
