Tech stocks drive Wall Street higher

Major US equity indices rose in opening Wednesday after consumer price data broadly met expectations, allaying some concerns about faster-than-expected interest rate hikes and big tech stocks drove the market higher.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average started the trading session on Wall Street, in rise of 84.14 points, or 0.23%, to 36,336.16 points.

The benchmark Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 15.52 points, or 0.33%, to 4,728.59 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index jumped 109.65 points, or 0.72%. , at 15263.10 points.
