Introducing Otter AI Chat: The New AI-Powered Chatbot for Collaborative Meetings

Automatic transcription service Otter announced a new AI-powered chatbot today that will let participants ask questions during and after a meeting and help them collaborate with teammates.

Are you tired of missing out on important details during meetings? Otter AI Chat is here to solve your problem. This innovative chatbot will assist you in catching up with the meeting by answering questions like, “I’m late to the meeting! What did I miss?” Moreover, it generates follow-up emails with action points after the meeting concludes. With Otter AI Chat, you can now receive contextual answers based on the discussions that took place during the meeting.

In March, Zoom also introduced a similar feature to aid its users in case they join meetings late.

Enhanced Collaboration and Seamless Communication

Unlike other bots, like ChatGPT, which are designed for one-on-one conversations, Otter’s chatbot allows multiple people to ask questions and seek clarification. Collaborating with teammates has never been easier. You can tag fellow team members to bring their attention to specific points or action items. Previously, this interaction was limited to comments on the transcript, but now, with Otter AI Chat, your communication during and after meetings will significantly improve.

The Power of Transcription and AI

Transcribing over 1 million spoken words per minute, Otter has proven itself as a leading automatic transcription service. However, it is yet to be confirmed if the newly introduced Otter AI Chat has been trained on this massive amount of data.

A Glimpse into the Future

The Otter AI Chat feature will be made available to all users in the next few days. It is important to note that any data exchanged through the chatbot will not be shared with third parties. Otter has continuously pushed the boundaries of innovation in the meeting-related tools space. In February, they launched OtterPilot bot, a tool that automatically emails meeting summaries to participants and inserts important slides in the meeting notes and transcriptions. With the introduction of Otter AI Chat, the company aims to further enhance the intelligence layer of their AI-powered notetaking feature, enabling users to ask more complex questions.

A New Era of Meeting Tools

The integration of AI-generated meeting notes and summaries has become a common feature in various meeting-related tools. Recent advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) have paved the way for more sophisticated solutions. Meeting companies strive to provide additional value through chatbots that leverage meeting data to provide valuable insights.
