Thanksgiving is just over a week here in the US. If you are looking for some Thanksgiving-themed lessons, try one of the following options.
Make a card with Thanksgiving stories
Where does your Thanksgiving dinner come from? is an interactive story card that shows where eight popular Thanksgiving foods are grown and harvested in the United States. Students can make their own stories about Thanksgiving. A simple way to do this is to use StoryMap JS. In the following video I show you how to create a storymap with StoryMap JS.

Make a Thanksgiving Traditions Flipgrid, Wakelet or Padlet
Flipgrid makes it easy for students to quickly record video responses and share at teacher prompts. Create a Flipgrid and ask your students to share their favorite Thanksgiving traditions. If you work fast, you can use Flipgrid’s Flipgrid Pals tool to find other classrooms to connect with to share stories about Thanksgiving traditions. With both Wakelet and Padlet you can create a digital sticky board to which students can add notes about their favorite Thanksgiving traditions. Their notes can contain images, text and videos.
Contribute to the Great Thanksgiving 2019
For the fifth year in a row, StoryCorps is organizing The Great Thanksgiving Listen. This annual event is an attempt to get families talking and recording their stories around the Thanksgiving table. The project was originally developed to allow high school students to record the stories of their parents, grandparents, and other elderly relatives. It has expanded over the years to be open to anyone who wants to participate. Students can add their stories to a national collection or keep them private so that only their families can enjoy.
