Tekken 8: Raven’s Return and the Introduction of a Brand New Character, Azucena
2023: A Promising Year for Fighting Games
There is no denying it: 2023 is a blessed year for all lovers of fighting games. Not long ago, we received the sulphurous Street Fighter 6new episode of a saga cult that has brilliantly appropriated modern and old-school codes to delight all generations. As a reminder, our test complete is available at this address.
In September, another saga mythical will return as a complete rebootnamely Mortal Kombat with Mortal Kombat 1: the developers took the opportunity to add new gameplay mechanics, in order to revitalize the gameplay and bring it a breath of fresh air.
And all this without counting on Tekken 8also from a series that theon no longer presents, which should land… one day. Many imagine it for 2023, but the truth is that Namco Bandai has still not given an exact release date. Whatever, in the meantime, two new characters have just been revealed.
Raven’s Return
This should satisfy the players of the 2000s: Raven, Officer secret recognizable hair, had appeared for the first time in the excellent Tekken 5. If he was present in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 6, he had however left his place in the seventh numbered episode: So it’s been twelve years since we’ve seen him!
Here he is finally back in Tekken 8 and yes, his panoply of skillful blows with a nice dose of teleportation is always present for the most grand happiness of players eager to send a few well-felt mandalas. A familiar face thaton can’t wait to find, controllers in main.
A brand new character: Azucena
She comes to us from Peru and she loves coffee: here is Azucena, a character (absolutely not cliché) completely new who will therefore join the five-star cast of Tekken 8. Because a bit of freshness never hurts, regulars and newcomers to the saga will therefore be able to discover this fighter full of surprises and visibly adept at small, well-placed feints.
Note also that it will be accompanied byan arena directly placed in Peru, llamas and temples in support. This will have the particularity of focusing on two levels once the barrier is broken, confirming the desire for vertical courses on the part of Bandai Namco.
Azucena is therefore the first brand new character of Tekken 8 announced, for a roaster now 18 heads wide. We imagine that the developers still have a few in stock, especially when on take a look at this leak…
