Ten Hag urges Maguire to repeat his form in England to Manchester United

LONDON: Manchester United manager Eric ten Hag says centre-back Harry Maguire did really well for England at the World Cup and has urged him to repeat his form for the club when will the Premier League resume. Maguire lost his place in United’s first team in August, but the 29-year-old has featured in every England game in Qatar, as the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals by France. Ten Hag said of Maguire during United’s training camp in Spain: “He’s clearly good enough to play at the top level. He did poorly for Manchester United at one point, and then of course there were difficulties. For England he almost always played good games.” He added: “We want him to stay at this level with Manchester United. I think he did very well at the World Cup. He was really consistent. When he plays with his confidence like now, he’s a very important player for us and that’s what everyone expects.” United will return to his games on 21 December, with a League Cup match in home to Burnley, before hosting Nottingham Forest in championship on the 27th of the same month.
