Texas Family-Owned Dealership Group Acquires Toyota, Honda, GM, Stellantis Stores with New Mexico Purchase

Casa Auto Group, a family-owned business based out of El Paso, Texas, recently expanded into a new state with the purchase of four dealerships in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The group, which is now in its third generation of leadership, purchased stores selling the Toyota, Honda, Chevrolet-Buick-GMC and Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram brands in August 2022 from Robert Martinez of Desert Sun Motors. This acquisition marks the first time that Casa has moved into a new state since the business was founded in 1969.

The brothers, who started with three dealerships selling Kia, Ford, Lincoln and Nissan, added a Buick-GMC store in 2021 before finalizing the New Mexico deal in the third quarter of last year. Casa CEO Ronnie Lowenfield stated that the purpose of the move was to seek growth and diversification.

The buildings housing Honda and Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram have been slated for complete rebuilds. A new Honda building is set to open in April, and the Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram building will be replaced in May. Until the new Honda building is open, the Honda sales staff is working out of the Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram building, while all Honda service is temporarily operating out of an old building next to the Chevrolet-Buick-GMC store.

The Lowenfield brothers have ambitious plans for the future of Casa Auto Group. Ronnie Lowenfield stated that he would like to buy one or two stores every year and continue to grow, with the goal of having 15 rooftops by 2030.
