The Algerian national team postpones the trip in Cameroon to participate in the African Cup

Algeria: The Algerian Football Association announced today, Thursday, the postponement to Saturday of the team’s trip to the Cameroonian city of Douala, to participate in the African Nations Cup. The Algerian delegation was supposed to travel today, Thursday, from the Qatari capital, Doha, to Douala, after the friendly in which the team won three unanswered goals against Ghana. And the Algerian Federation explained in a statement that the coach Jamal Belmadi, after thinking about it, preferred to give the players the opportunity to recover their strength after the confrontation with Ghana, and to spare them further inconvenience related to the trip. The press release states that the coaching staff has decided to hold two training sessions today, Thursday, the first for players who did not participate in the Ghana match or who participated from the bench, while the second session will take place with the participation of players who were present from the start against Ghana. The Algerian national team will start the campaign to defend their continental title by playing against Sierra Leone on 11 January, in the first round of Group E matches. (Dpa)
