The Arab parliament condemns the burning of a copy of the Holy Koran in Sweden

The Arab Parliament has strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, underlining its total rejection of such shameful acts, which are considered a violation of all international laws and treaties, in regarding the need to adhere to respect for people’s holiness, beliefs and religions. The Arab Parliament asked today in a statement. The international community must assume its responsibilities and criminalize these unacceptable acts which fuel feelings of hatred and violence and aim to destabilize security and stability, sensing the serious repercussions of such practices, which are also considered a grave violation of human rights.

The Arab Parliament has called for the enactment of international laws and regulations that criminalize insulting religious sanctities and provide the necessary protection for Muslims to practice their religious rites on an equal basis with all other religions, underlining the need to disseminate values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, and to avoid provoking hatred by insulting religions and sanctities.
