The Brazil-Argentina World Cup qualifying match will not be repeated

Buenos Aires: The Argentine Football Association said today Tuesday that the match between the first team and its Brazilian counterpart in World Cup qualifiers, canceled last year, will not be repeated. The match between the two South American giants on September 5 was canceled after Brazilian health authorities accused several Premier League players of violating quarantine rules in the country due to Covid-19. The Argentine Football Association said the problem was resolved with the Brazilian Football Confederation and FIFA. The Argentine Football Association was fined 150,000 Swiss francs ($ 157.48), with half the amount suspended for a two-year probationary period. Brazil and Argentina qualified for the World Cup quest’year in Qatar: Brazil topped the South American qualifiers with 45 points, while Argentina finished second with 39 points.
