Lusail (Qatar): The Brazil national football team started their journey in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, with a deserved victory over their Serbian counterparts 2-0 during the match that united them today, Thursday, at Lusail Stadium, in the first round of group G. The Brazilian national team owes the credit for this victory to its player Richarlison, who scored two goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes. The Brazilian national team scored its first three points of the tournament by leading the group by goal difference against the Swiss national team, who today defeated the Cameroon national team with a clean goal. The Serbian national team, on the other hand, remained without points in bottom of the table, with a goal difference behind Cameroon. Interestingly, the Brazilian team is the most crowned team with 5 titles, the last of which was in 2002. The Brazilian team will meet its Swiss counterpart in the second round next Monday, while the Serbian team will play its Cameroonian counterpart on the same day. (dpa)
