The Central Bank of Ukraine reduces the exchange rate of the national currency by 25% against the dollar

Today, Thursday, the National Bank of Ukraine (Central) reduced the official rate of the Ukrainian currency “hryvnia” against the dollar by 25%.

And the central Ukrainian depreciated from 29.2549 hryvnia per dollar to 36.5686 hryvnia per dollar.

“Such a step will increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers, unify the exchange rate for different groups of companies and the population, and also preserve the stability of the economy in a war,” the central said.

The Central Ukrainian stressed that the official hryvnia exchange rate against the US dollar remains fixed, noting that the official fixed rate against the US dollar is the backbone to stabilize expectations and the main means to achieve priority goals.
