The composition of the Russian Baltic Fleet includes a carrier ship for cruise missiles.

The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Baltic Fleet has adopted a new warship with Caliber and Onyx cruise missiles.

And the statement released by the department said: “On Thursday, December 29, 2022, the Grad missile ship was officially adopted by the Baltic Fleet as part of the Russian army, and during an official ceremony with the participation of the commander of the Baltic Fleet and a group of Russian officers and military” .

Grad is the tenth ship of the Buyan-M class built at the Zelenodolsk plant for the Russian army, work on its development began in 2017, the first launch in 2021, and experiments on it began in October last year. .

Each Buyan-M ship is 75 meters long, 11 meters wide, has a displacement of 949 tons, can carry a crew of 52, move at a speed of 25 nautical knots and travel 2,500 nautical miles per voyage.

The Grad ship was armed with Russian Caliber and Onyx cruise missiles, 100-mm cannons, Igla anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft and anti-ship machine guns.
