The cost of energy brings the Tunisian trade deficit to levels record

The Tunisian National Institute of Statistics said on Tuesday that the Tunisian trade deficit increased by 59% in 11 months questyear, reaching a level record of 23.281 billion dinars ($7.26 billion), driven by a severe energy deficit.

The trade deficit is one of the main dilemmas facing the Tunisian government in the light of the worsening economic crisis.

The Statistical Institute also said that the energy deficit amounted to 9.2 billion dinars in November, which is about 40% of the total deficit.
