Do we have fans of “The Game”? Well, let me bless you with some good news tonight as Deadline reports that the CW is bringing back its old show with some of the original cast.
It’s been 13 years since The Game helped launch the CW and now the popular series is expected to return to the network with the creator of the original series Mara Brock Akil and co-creator of “American Soul” Devon Greggory.
The new version of The game will have a new decor on the east coast and go from a half hour comedy based in San Diego to an hour drama in Baltimore.
As for who will return for the new show, well, it hasn’t been officially announced, but Hosea Chanchez, who played Malik Wright, and Brittany Daniel, who played Kelly Pitts, have both published the good news on social media.
It is safe to say that Chanchez and Wright are definitely on board.
The new show is described by the following: “This time our old out of touch people are determined to help a group of new crazy school kids on the ruthless football field on and off the field. They will face the traps of glory, fortune and love. Some will win, others will lose, but that’s what happens when you play the game. “
The game, a spin-off from Akil’s long comedy series UPN / CW girlfriends ran on the CW for three seasons before being canceled when the network virtually stopped making half-hour comedies. The show was later picked up by BET where it aired for six more seasons.
Roommates, are you here for a new version of “The Game”? Let us know!
