The Dangers of Strict Diets
In pursuit of a fit and harmonious body, some people turn to strict diets without considering the potential consequences.
Dr. Mikhail Ginzburg, a Russian nutrition expert, emphasizes the risks associated with some diets. According to him:
- Crash diets and severe restrictions can result in insomnia, frustration, overeating, weight gain, and eating disorders.
- Harsh diets can lead to serious health issues such as anorexia, bulimia, and digestive problems.
- Internal digestive processes continue during weight loss, potentially leading to ulcers and gastritis.
- Electric disturbances from strict diets can even cause cardiac arrest due to a sudden drop in blood pressure.
Most Dangerous Diets
Dr. Ginzburg identifies two particularly dangerous diets:
Pierre Dukan Diet
This diet involves almost completely cutting out carbohydrates, resulting in a high concentration of proteins that can lead to gout and the formation of gallstones and kidney stones.
Total Starvation Diet
This diet has been linked to serious consequences, ranging from collapses to loss of appetite.
