Marvel’s Dark Web event starring Spider-Man and the X-Men is ending, all during a week of new releases debuting new heroes and wrapping other titles. Marvel Comics’ Dark Web event starring Spider-Man, the X-Men, Venom and more is over this week.
Dark Web: Finale #1 by writer Zeb Wells, artists Francesco Mortarino and Adam Kubert wraps up the conflict between Spider-Man Peter Parker and his evil clone, Ben Reilly, as well as the X-Men and the Goblin Queen AKA Madelyne Pryor. Dark Web has stretched across several ongoing and limited series, including The Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, Mary Jane & Black Cat and Gold Goblin. One of the final tie-ins, Venom #16 by writer Al Ewing and artist Bryan Hitch, will release alongside the concluding one-shot. Wednesday’s new releases also give the spotlight to two new Marvel heroes: Bloodline and Ghost Light. Brielle Brooks AKA Bloodline is the daughter of Blade introduced by Free Comic Book Day 2022: Avengers/X-Men #1 in May 2022, and now her five-issue solo miniseries by writer Danny Lore and artist Karen S. Darboe is finally launching. As for Ghost Light, writer John Jennings and artist Valentine De Landro are resurrecting Dr. Al B. Harper – a character who sacrificed himself in his first comic book appearance, 1969’s Silver Surfer #5 – and turning him into a superhero for the five-issue miniseries Silver Surfer: Ghost Light. As for other comics out this week, writer-artist Peach Momoko is pitting Magik and the Phoenix against each other in Demon Wars: Down in Flames #1, and Star Wars’ Sana Starros is getting her first five-issue miniseries by writer Justina Ireland and artist Pere Perez.
Legion of X is releasing its last issue before switching over to Nightcrawlers for the Sins of Sinister X-Men event, and the miniseries Wakanda is ending with its fifth and final issue.
