China previously predicted that it would complete the design and construction of a rocket with enough thrust to transport astronauts to the moon by 2030.

China still is in lags behind the United States in space skills and technology.

The last manned mission of the US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to the Moon was in 1972 and American astronauts are expected to return there by 2024.
