On Sunday, the board of directors of the Saudi Football Association approved the new changes to the professional rules, player status and transfers, which will be officially implemented from its date.
The regulation included a number of amendments in in line with the requirements of the Saudi Football Association statute, the requirements of the International Football Association (FIFA), the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the principles of natural justice.
The most important changes to the regulation were the abolition of the cap for contracts for Saudi professional players and births, in effective since 2015.
On the other hand, the Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation approved the establishment of a temporary committee called (the Founding Committee for the Law of Fair Financial Play), in which the committee will coordinate with the competent authorities to study the existing options, develop adequate plans, prepare a regulation for fair play and submit the final recommendations to the Board of Directors, provided that the announcement is made Subsequently to the members of the committee, this step is part of the efforts made by the competent authorities to find and activate effective control tools on financial affairs and strengthen the principle of transparency in financial transactions, after studying the matter with experts from the International Football Association (FIFA).
