The Future of MCU: 8 Marvel Characters Poised to Revolutionize Phase 6

Before Phase 6 of the MCU wraps up the Multiverse Saga, it could introduce new Marvel characters who could completely change the franchise’s direction. After Avengers: Endgame marked the end of an era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 4 set the stage for the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. Phase 5 brings the audience closer to the next franchise-wide crossovers in the MCU. At the end of Phase 6, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars could have an even bigger cast than Avengers: Endgame.

Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Sylvie, and Kang the Conqueror are just a few of the Marvel characters introduced in Phases 4 and 5 who will likely play essential roles in Phase 6’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. But even though the MCU is pretty full already, there is still room for new characters. In Phase 6 of the MCU, besides the Fantastic Four, at least eight well-known Marvel characters could also debut.

Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom is one of Marvel’s most well-known bad guys, so it was only a matter of time before he made his MCU debut. The upcoming Fantastic Four movie is a good step in that direction. Reed Richards’ biggest enemy is a master scientist and sorcerer who runs a sovereign nation and is addicted to power. Given that the main stories in the MCU are about technology, magic, political intrigue, and the multiverse, it makes sense to introduce Doctor Doom before the Multiverse Saga ends. Doctor Doom is the main character in all Marvel’s Secret Wars comic book stories. In Battleworld, he becomes a god-like figure, so he should be in the MCU’s Secret Wars.

Iron Lad

Iron Lad

Iron Lad, the youngest version of Nathaniel Richards, is a vital part of Kang the Conqueror’s story. He fights against his evil self and tries not to follow in Kang’s footsteps. The Wasp and Ant-Man: Kang variants in Quantum Mania include Immortus, Rama-Tut, and the Council of Kangs, but Iron Lad has not yet been introduced in the MCU. In Phase 6, Iron Lad could show up to get all of the active Avengers together to fight the Council of Kangs, or he could be brought in to fight his different versions. Since Iron Lad is also a Young Avenger, he might be the last member of the team when the MCU’s Young Avengers finally get together.

Miles Morales

Miles Morales

Miles Morales comes from the Ultimate Universe in the comics, and he only joins Marvel’s central Universe once an invasion brings the two together. Phase 6 could either get Miles Morales through the multiverse or pay off the Spider-Man: Homecoming Miles tease, in which Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis talked about his nephew. Either way, Miles Morales would be introduced as Peter Parker’s protégé and successor. Miles Morales’s introduction to the MCU in Phase 6 could set up a fun dynamic between him and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, while also getting the audience ready for Holland’s eventual retirement as Spider-Man.

Captain Britain

Captain Britain

In Marvel Comics, the Captain Britain Corps. It is a group of different Captain Britains whose job is to protect every universe. This sounds like an excellent job for the MCU right now. Captain Carter was already shown to be a guardian of many galaxies in Marvel’s What If…?, but the MCU still needs to add her to the history of the Captain Britain Corps. In Phase 6, another Captain Britain could join the fight against Kang the Conqueror, and Brian Braddock, the most famous hero to wear the mask, could take over the Sacred Timeline from He Who Remains and Kang the Conqueror.

Magneto

Magneto

The Multiverse Saga might be too busy for the X-Men to make their official debut, but the groundwork for their rise is already there. Patrick Stewart’s Professor returned in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will return in Deadpool 3. Phase 6 should do the same thing and let Ian McKellen’s character, Magneto, make one last appearance. Phase 6 could also bring Michael Fassbender’s Magneto into the MCU and use him in mutant stories after Avengers: Secret Wars. This would be similar to how Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin were brought into the MCU from Netflix’s Defenders franchise.

Superior Iron Man

Superior Iron Man

Due to the infinite possibilities of the multiverse, Marvel Studios can make an evil Iron Man just like they made two different evil versions of Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange’s Earth-838 in the Multiverse of Madness is an MCU universe where the Ultron program worked, so Tony Stark might still be alive and working as Superior Iron Man in that universe. Like his comic book version, the MCU’s Superior Iron Man could be a bad guy named Tony Stark. This would give Robert Downey Jr. a chance to play the hero again, but differently. Also, Superior Iron Man could come with Hydra Supreme, a lousy version of Steve Rogers, who is loyal to HYDRA.

Venom

Venom

Even though Eddie Brock had already returned to his universe, the scene after the credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home set up a fight between Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Venom. The symbiote Eddie left behind could soon bond with Spider-suit. Man’s This would make it likely that Venom would appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, which would be a nod to Venom’s first appearance in a comic book in 1984’s Secret Wars storyline. Whether Venom stays alone or Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock also comes back through the multiverse, Spider-fight Man’s with the symbiote would not only affect his career as an Avenger but also add a complicated personal conflict to a possible new MCU Spider-Man trilogy.

The Beyonder

Beyonder

The Beyonder is one of Marvel’s most powerful characters. He is the main bad guy in the 1984 event Secret Wars, but in the 2015 event of the same name, he is an entirely different person. In the first, the Beyonder is an all-powerful being who makes Battleworld. In the second, he is a group of extraterrestrial beings who cause problems throughout the Marvel multiverse. Either of these Beyonders could play a big part in Phase 6. They could become allies or enemies of Kang the Conqueror, make Battleworld, or even reset the MCU by merging all the live-action Marvel universes into one reality.
