If the season 2 finale of Euphoria, which aired in February, left you with a Euphoria-sized hole in your heart, we have good news for you. The Idol, HBO’s new show, might be just what the doctor ordered. Sam Levinson, Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd), and Reza Fahim made The Idol for television. It’s about a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who gets involved with a rising pop star. Levinson, The Weeknd, Fahim, Joseph Epstein, Ashley Levinson, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Kevin Turen are all the show’s executive producers.
On June 29, 2021, The Weeknd said he would be creating, executive producing, and co-writing a drama series for HBO called “The Idol.” The show’s main scenes were shot in and around Los Angeles, California, in November 2021. But work on the show stopped in April 2022 because The Weeknd was one of the headliners at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Sam Levinson is said to have become the show’s new director. The new version of the show went into production at the end of May and was done for good in July 2022. On June 4, 2023, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, the first episode of the HBO series will debut simultaneously on both HBO and the streaming service Max (formerly known as HBO Max). The Sunday night slot is set aside exclusively for HBO’s high-quality original programming, such as The House of the Dragon, Succession, Euphoria, and The Last of Us. If the network truly believes in the series, it should be encouraged because it will appear alongside such an esteemed company.
Is There A Trailer For The Idol?
On July 17, 2022, the first sneak peek for The Idol came out. The trailer doesn’t say much about the story or the characters. But it does show how things will go. There are parties, dancing, drugs, romance, fast cars, sex, the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and more. The teaser also showed us a bit of Jocelyn’s relationship with Tedros. In one scene, Tedros asks her, “Do you trust me?” she says, “Not really.”
The second teaser, which came out on August 21, 2022, only tells us a little. It tells us that the show is coming “from the gutters of Hollywood” and clears up what cast members were still in the show after the reshoots.
The latest teaser for The Idol shows off the characters of Tesfaye and Depp. It sets an exciting tone for the show. Even when things are funny, the way the lighting is used gives us a feeling of unease, just like in Levinson’s other films.
