The IMF raises its forecast for the growth of the Egyptian economy to 3.3% in 2021

The International Monetary Fund raised its forecast for the growth of the Egyptian economy over the course of 2021. In the latest report from the World Economic Outlook, the Fund projected Egyptian GDP growth in 2021 to 3.3%, in increase compared to the previous forecast of the fund of 2.5% last April.

The report predicted an increase in GDP growth rates in Egypt in 2022 to reach 5.2% and then 5.8% in 2026.

Last June, the World Bank praised the Egyptian government’s adoption of further reform measures in 2021 to address the repercussions of the pandemic, according to the Al-Shorouk newspaper.

At the time, it was expected in the June World Economic Outlook report that the growth of the Egyptian economy would increase in 2022 and 2023, registering 4.5% and 5.5% respectively.
