On August 29, a short video for The Killer came out. The trailer doesn’t tell us much, but that’s very much on purpose. It is mainly about Michael Fassbender’s (X-Men: Days of Future Past) cold and calculated narration as he thinks about his goal.

What Is The Killer Plot?

The Killer is based on the same-named comic book by Alexis Nolent and Luc Jacamon. “A brutal, bloody, and stylish noir” is how the movie is described. Fincher has been working on the project since Paramount started it in 2007. In 1998, the first book in the series came out. Here’s what the official plot summary says:

Solitary, cold, methodical, and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, a killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. Yet, the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool.

Who’s Behind The Killer?

Andrew Kevin Walker, who wrote the screenplay for Fight Club, turned The Killer into a movie, and David Fincher directed it. Since Se7en in 1995, this will be the first time Walker and Fincher have worked together. Erik Messerschmidt, who plays Mank, returns to work with Fincher again. The producers are Ceán Chaffin and William Doyle. Fincher’s wife and longtime producing partner, Ceán Chaffin, is also working on the project. Panic Pictures, BOOM! Studios and Archaia Entertainment, which make movies, are also involved.

Will The Killer Have a Theatrical Release?

The Killer will be one of an increasing number of Netflix movies that will be shown in theaters. There will be a limited film screening in October, but no date has been set yet. Some Netflix original movies, like The Irishman and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, have been shown in theaters, but that’s not very common.
