The King of Jordan and the President of Mauritania congratulate the King of Morocco on winning the World Cup

Amman-Nouakchott: King Abdullah II of Jordan and Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani congratulated King Mohammed VI of Morocco on his country’s victory over his Portuguese counterpart and their ascent to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar. This occurred during two separate phone calls between King Mohammed VI and his counterparts, King Abdullah II and Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazwani. A statement from the Jordanian royal court said on Sunday that “King Abdullah II made a telephone call to his brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to congratulate him on his country’s qualification for the World Cup semi-finals.” The statement indicated that King Abdullah II “has praised the level of the Moroccan national team and its outstanding performance in the World Cup currently in course in the sister state of Qatar, wishing her success in the remaining matches”. According to the official news agency of Mauritania, “President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani made a phone call on Saturday evening to his brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI , in occasion of the historic qualification of the Morocco national football team”. Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani expressed his warmest congratulations to Mohamed VI for the historic achievement thanks to which Morocco became the first African and Arab country to reach this stage of the World Cup FIFA Morocco managed to write a new history for Arab and African football after qualifying for the semi-finals after defeating Portugal, one of the candidates to win the cup, with a goal scored by Youssef Al-Nusairi in the 42nd minute ( Anatolia).
