The Kingdom participates in the twelfth meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts

The General Authority for Geospatial Sensing and Information participated in the work of the twelfth meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information, which was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York in the United States of America, led by the President of the General Authority, President of the United Nations Arab Committee of Experts for the Management of Geospatial Information, Dr. Ing. Muhammad bin Yahya Al Sayel During the meeting some topics on the agenda were discussed. It included the integrated geospatial information framework, the definition of the geospatial information environment in future, the contribution of regional committees to the global geospatial information plan, the global geodetic framework, the use of geospatial information to achieve sustainable development goals and the integration of geospatial and statistical information and other related topics.

It is interesting to note that the authority, according to its organization, represents the Kingdom with regard to its competences in coordination and cooperation with its counterparts in other countries and with relevant international bodies and organizations.
