The Kingdom will host the Asian Handball Cup

The Asian Handball Confederation has decided to grant Saudi Arabia the right to organize the Asian Cup for the twentieth game, after deciding to withdraw the organization from Iran.

The executive committee of the Asian Handball Federation met on Wednesday and decided to withdraw the tournament from Iran.

The tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia from 18 to 31 January 2022, with the prime five teams that will receive the qualification card for the “Poland-Sweden 2023” Handball World Cup.

For his part, Fadel bin Ali Al-Nimr, chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Handball Federation, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for its lifelong support to the sports sector.

He also thanked Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, minister of sport, chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee, and his deputy, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, for the follow-up and file hosting support, which came on the basis of the Kingdom’s success in hosting the largest international tournaments and events recently.
