The Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC) has announced the organization of an exclusive exhibition of one of the largest and rarest black diamonds called “Enigma” on the Dubai Diamond Exchange.
This exceptional diamond, weighing 555.55 carats and embellished with 55 fascinating faces, will be presented to the public for the first time in Dubai, with the participation of a group of the most important companies active in the diamond and gemstone trade in Dubai and in all over the world in an exclusive exhibition organized by the auction house Sotheby’s at the Dubai Stock Exchange for diamonds.
This one-of-a-kind diamond, the world’s largest of any kind to be auctioned, will go on a global bidding tour that starts in Dubai, passes through Los Angeles and ends in London, before being put up for auction. in sale in one auction online during the month of February.
Enigma is the largest natural-colored black diamond in the world, according to reports published by the Goblin Foundation and the Gemological Institute of America, starting in 2004.
It was listed as the largest cut diamond in the Guinness Book of Records in 2006. The design of this rare diamond is inspired by the amulet of luck in Middle East, which is associated with the number five and symbolizes protection, strength and security.
Sotheby’s plans to sell the diamond for at least five million pounds ($ 6.8 million) and the auction house also plans to accept cryptocurrencies as a potential payment method.
