The number of Black Friday shoppers in Great Britain increased by 3.7%.

Data from Sensormatic Solutions showed an increase in the number of Black Friday shoppers in all of Britain by 3.7% year-on-year.

The increase was led by high-end retail outlets, where visitor numbers due to crowds to watch FIFA World Cup matches rose 13.9 percent year-on-year, according to data.

However, the company indicated that the number of shoppers on Black Friday is still 21.3% lower than pre-COVID-19 levels.

Separate data from Barclaycard Payments showed that the volume of payments on Black Friday increased by 3.2% compared to 2021.
